Leading the Charge in

Zero Emission Vehicle Adoption

Recharge Minnesota is pleased to spotlight the growing group of participants in this statewide program for EV leaders. Entities from throughout Greater Minnesota participated in the second annual recognition ceremony. Recognition partners include Recharge America, Fresh Energy, the Olseth Family Foundation, and this group of leaders and communities from across Minnesota.

Organizations recognized by Recharge Minnesota have each pledged to take positive actions related to EVs that fit their circumstance and share their experiences to help others learn. The video on the left spotlights their work.

Recharge Minnesota Recognizes Leaders in Our State

Zero Emission Vehicle Definition and Terms

Zero Emission Vehicles (ZEV) includes Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) powered solely by an electric battery, Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEV) powered by a combination of an electric motor and a gasoline engine, and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles (FCEV) fueled by hydrogen.

The term Plug-in Electric Vehicle (PEV) is a subset of ZEVs and includes both PHEVs and BEVs. These terms may apply to cars, vans, all size trucks, buses, and off-road equipment like commercial lawn care products or material handling equipment.
